Description
Ditch the smoke machines & flashy light shows. Here at Trinity, we have a great blend of some new music & old hymns that fills the air (a mix of southern gospel & country). Forget the sterile feel of modern churches; here, the atmosphere is down-home and welcoming, a place where worn bibles and calloused hands are badges of honor.
Self-sufficiency isn’t just a buzzword for us either, it’s a way of life for many. This isn’t a church that entertains; it equips! We host workshops on canning vegetables, raising chickens, and basic carpentry. We offer a helping hand to struggling families, sharing not just prayers, but also practical skills and resources.
We at Trinity also openly support the Homeschool community. While we believe it’s your right as a family to choose what’s best for your child, we do believe homeschooling is our God-given right and we encourage and support those that choose this lifestyle.
We at Trinity Church want to be a beacon for those seeking a simpler life, rooted in FAITH, community, and the resilience of the land.
Story
Trinity Full Gospel Church, now known as Trinity Church, was formed in 1933 by Reverend F.M. and Viola Campbell based on a prophecy of Minnie Wesson. At that time, the church was located on the corner of Willow and Cherokee.
In May of 1934 the church was established at the current location. Due to failing health and ultimately Rev.Campbell’s death in March of 1982, his son Paul J. Campbell and his wife, Shirley became Pastors, following in the traditions of his father. In 2007, John and Connie Wilson accepted the role as Pastors fulfilling God’s call on their lives. However, in Dec 2014 John was diagnosed with Brain Cancer (Glioblastoma) and in June of 2015 he moved on to Heaven and received his rewards. Connie has continued to serve him and Pastor. In 2016 we watched our church burn to the ground due to a lighting strike but with God’s help, we rebuilt our building. Over the years, the buildings have gone through several remodeling-taking us from dirt floors and coal oil lanterns to the comfortable and, we think, beautiful building we have today. With each remodeling and ultimately the rebuild, God met our needs through the faithfulness, generosity and hard work of His people. Now, in 2024 Chris & Amy Reaves, son-in-law and daughter and son-in-law of John & Connie Wilson, are stepping into their calling as Associate Pastors.
Although we believe that the return of Jesus Christ is soon, we are prepared to continue the ministry to which He has called us until He does return.
What We Believe
We believe the Holy Bible as the inspired Word of God, without any error, useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness. (2 Timothy 3:16)
In one God eternally existing in three persons: the Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
That Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of the Father, conceived of the Holy Ghost, and born of the Virgin Mary. That Jesus was crucified, buried, and raised from the dead. That He ascended to heaven and is today at the right hand of the Father as the Intercessor.
That all have sinned and come short of the glory of God and that repentance is commanded of God for all and necessary for forgiveness of sins.
We believe that eternal salvation is the free gift of God, entirely apart from man’s works, and is possessed by any and all who have faith in and receive Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior.
We believe that the baptism with the Holy Ghost is a distinct experience from water baptism. It’s a powerful infilling of the Holy Spirit that empowers believers for Christian service. (Acts 1:8)
We believe that water baptism by immersion signifies a believer’s public identification with Jesus Christ’s death, burial and resurrection. (Romans 6:4; Colossians 2:12)
Through Jesus’s death on the cross, healing is available for all.
We believe in the personal, bodily, imminent, and glorious return of the Lord Jesus Christ and that His second coming inspires believers for dynamic and zealous life and service for Him while waiting for His return.
We believe in the bodily resurrection of the dead, the everlasting blessedness of the saved in heaven, and the everlasting punishment and separation from God of the unsaved in hell.
We believe that God created a world of abundance and beauty and entrusted us to care for it. Living simply and with self-sufficiency reflects our gratitude for His gifts and our responsibility as stewards.
We believe that gathering with other believers is an essential part of living a Christian life. The church provides a community of support, encouragement, friendship and growth for its members.
It is the responsibility of every believer to dedicate his life to carrying out the work of the Great Commission.
